A Cemetery for Madmen: Another Tale of Two Cities' is the second novel in a trilogy that also includes 'Death is a Lonely Business' and 'Let's All Kill Constance.' Once again, the action takes place in Hollywood, and once again the closest genre analogy—though by no means exhaustive—would be detective noir. At precisely midnight, during a Halloween party at a legendary cemetery adjacent to a legendary studio, the protagonist (a science fiction writer and screenwriter, Bradbury's alter ego) sees a studio magnate who died on the same Halloween night twenty years earlier. Helping the hero find a way out of the labyrinth of deaths, real and imaginary, are an arrogant Austrian-Chinese director with an ever-present monocle, the embalmer of Lenin's mummy, a Jesus-like drunkard named Jesus Christ, and the world's best dinosaur animator.
