Among them are the short story 'The Aviator' about the capriciousness of fortune, the essay 'The Pilot and the Elements' about a pilot's struggle with inclement weather, and reports on his travels to the post-revolutionary Soviet Union and Spain engulfed in civil war. The publication is supplemented by letters to Léon Werth, a loyal friend and comrade, to whom 'Tonio' dedicated 'The Little Prince.'
