The Gadfly (Ovod)

Arthur Burton is young, full of freedom-loving ideas and romantic illusions. Having suffered the betrayal of his comrades and the woman he loved, having lost everything, he disappears, only to return as a completely different man, with a false name and appearance. But beneath the mask of the mature, mocking, and caustic Gadfly lies the same impetuous Arthur, still true to the beautiful ideals of his youth. The romance of the national liberation struggle, the tragedy of a great, passionate, and unhappy love, a captivating plot with gripping intrigue, and an extraordinarily multifaceted and charming protagonist—all this makes The Gadfly timeless.
