Daniel Keyes has always been interested in borderline states; heroes with multiple personalities and mental disorders have always intrigued him, starting with 'The Mysterious Case of Billy Milligan.'
'Asylum Chronicles' is one such book.
Raven's day begins in a mental hospital. She has dissociative identity disorder, and she must recover from another suicide attempt.
Now Raven has a secret that could save thousands of innocent lives. Buried deep in her fragmented subconscious are the details of a planned terrorist attack against the United States—details that her captors cannot allow her to reveal. While Raven musters all her strength to fight back against her captors, an American agent races across the globe to save the unfortunate girl and find the key that will unlock her locked memories before it's too late.
