Fitzgerald Through Time: Tender Is the Night + Florence Adler Swims Forever (set of 2)

A set of two books: 'Tender Is the Night' and 'Florence Adler Swims Forever.'

In 1934, F. Scott Fitzgerald published one of his powerful novels, 'Tender Is the Night.' The story is largely autobiographical. Fitzgerald described the downside of a seemingly luxurious life with his wife, Zelda. The coveted American dream turned into tragedy. In the story of the moral degradation of a talented psychiatrist trying to save his marriage, Fitzgerald put the pain and suffering he himself experienced in the struggle with his wife's schizophrenia...

Almost 100 years later, Rachel Beanland wrote the novel 'Florence Adler Swims Forever,' the action of which takes place in 1934. The Adlers' youngest daughter, Florence, prepares to swim the English Channel, but instead embarks on an eternal voyage... To protect Fanny, who is hospitalized with the threat of another premature birth, the family decides to conceal the tragedy from their eldest daughter. In the hospital, Fanny reads Fitzgerald's 'Tender Is the Night' and finds parallels to her own life.
