Albert Benois: The Great Representative of an Artistic Dynasty (Albert Benua)

This monograph is dedicated to Albert Benois, one of the most prominent figures in Russian watercolor painting from the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries, whose work reflects the artistic trends of that controversial era. Coming from a distinguished family that produced generations of renowned architects and cultural figures, Albert Benois enjoyed recognition and fame during his lifetime, but after the Revolution and his departure for exile, he fell into obscurity. This publication explores the legacy of this outstanding Russian artist for the first time; a significant portion of the reproduced works are published for the first time. The publication is addressed to both specialists and the general public interested in Russian art and is illustrated with a large number of color reproductions.
