'The Rose of the World' is a major work of Russian esoteric literature, written by Daniil Andreev, a poet and outstanding mystic thinker, son of the renowned early 20th-century writer Leonid Andreev. Based on the author's personal spiritual experience, this original religious and philosophical treatise is marked by an inspired vision of global unity. In his insights into what lies 'beyond' everyday experience, the author seeks to convey to the reader an image of a future global culture, which the author calls the Rose of the World. Everything Daniil Andreev created 'is about one and the same thing: the structure of the universe and the struggle between Good and Evil that permeates this structure,' writes his wife and most insightful biographer, Alla Alexandrovna Andreeva. In the warmly moving article 'The Life of Daniil Andreev, as Told by His Wife,' which precedes the treatise 'The Rose of the World' in this collection, the writer's wife recounts his life and creative path, seen through the eyes of the person closest to her.
