Ksenia Smirnova is an art historian, specialist in mid-20th-century Soviet architecture, and Deputy Director for Educational Activities at the A.V. Shchusev Museum of Architecture. She is a researcher, lecturer, author of scholarly and popular articles and publications, and exhibition curator. 'Alexey Shchusev: The Architect Who Conquered Time' is her first children's book. Ksenia was inspired to write it by the fact that for over a decade, she has not only been involved in educational projects but also taught the history of Russian art to teenagers. Polina Pokladok is an art historian, specialist in Russian architecture of the second half of the 19th century, and a research associate in the Department of Soviet Graphic Art at the A.V. Shchusev Museum of Architecture. Polina was at the forefront of the creation of the Children's Center at the Museum: over the past 10 years, she has organized and developed numerous courses on the history of architecture for children and teenagers. This experience helps her explain complex phenomena in art history in a simple manner. Polina participates in scientific conferences, gives lectures, and in 2023, the book 'What Melnikov Invented,' co-authored by Polina, won the ARCH MOSCOW award in the category 'Best Children's Architectural Publication.'
