This book was written in 1976 by Leena Krohn, one of the most brilliant geniuses of modern Finnish literature, the author of numerous novels, short stories, poems, fables, and essays. 'In Human Clothes' is the story of a pelican who dreamed of becoming human. It so happened that a ten-year-old boy, Emil, becomes his guide into the world of people: it is he who helps the Pelican understand the strange world of human beings living in a big city.
Today, Leena Krohn's books have been translated into more than 20 languages. Leena is a laureate of numerous literary awards, including Finlandia Prize, Finlandia Prize (1992), the most prestigious prize in Finland. In 2004, the film 'The Pelican Man' was made based on the story 'In Human Clothes.' The book's illustrations were drawn by Anna Zhurko.
