The Stoic (Stoik)

'The Stoic' is the third and final novel in the legendary 'Trilogy of Desire,' based on the life story of American millionaire Charles Yerkes. Frank Cowperwood, a brilliant entrepreneur with an unerring business sense, having exhausted every opportunity to enrich himself in the West, decides to go to England to develop the London Underground, rightly believing that he can succeed in the Old World as well. Having become a powerful businessman, Frank accepts temporary business setbacks and the blows of fate with stoic calm, remaining at the pinnacle of financial success. But the downside of success awaits him, too. What remains for a person when 'millions vanish like smoke'?
