Undine (Undina)

What is it like to love without a soul? Knight Huldbrand meets a fisherman and his wife in a lonely hut deep in the forest. They introduce him to their adopted daughter, the blonde, blue-eyed beauty Undine. Huldbrand falls in love with her immediately, forgetting his promise to marry Lady Bertalda. Undine confesses that she is not human, but a water spirit. But Huldbrand is undeterred and marries her, taking her to his castle. Gradually, Undine realizes that her essence cannot be hidden from the gossip of many. And she notices an attraction between Huldbrand and Bertalda. Undine will have to choose between the human grief of lost love and the eternal wanderings of a free water spirit.
