The figure of the greatest jazz singer, Billie Holiday, has acquired a mythical aura since her death. No one would call Lady Day's fate simple, but can we say we know anything about the real her? Who really was the one whose name was constantly splashed across the headlines of scandalous articles and police reports? The famous Argentine duo—artist José Muñoz and screenwriter Carlos Sampaio—tells the story of an extraordinarily strong woman who, under the unbearable, never-ending oppression of racism and male violence, continued to give her defiant voice to the world.
