What do we wish we knew as children? What do we want our children to know? It's so important to discuss, but it seems too early at six and maybe too late at twelve, during the separation process. Many questions that shape a child's personality remain outside the school curriculum, and sometimes even home communication: who am I, what is my value, what is my calling, do I have goals and how to set them? What are emotions and how to cope with them? How to communicate, make friends, love? How to speak and listen to be heard?
They also don't teach important life skills at school: how to be organized, give a report, come up with something new, work in a team, manage a personal budget; how to understand your body and stay healthy.
We have included answers to these and many other questions in a book of infographics and a calendar for young people aged 9 and up. Each page, presented in a captivating visual format (almost like a comic book, but deeper), introduces children to soft skills, helping them recognize and begin working on their own. Soft skills are developed throughout life, but are especially active in childhood, when social connections are being formed.
The book and calendar include original content created specifically for the project by the Smart Reading team.
We read, revised, and synthesized nearly a hundred bestsellers on psychology, emotional intelligence, self-development, healthy lifestyles, communications, and more, making the ideas accessible to children. Children's literature editors worked on the project under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief of Smart Reading.
