'Tender Is the Night' is a largely autobiographical novel, which Fitzgerald himself called his favorite work, and which many critics rated higher than 'The Great Gatsby.'
This novel is the story of the complex relationships between the young American actress Rosemary, the young talented psychiatrist Dick Diver and his wife Nicole, whose illness is Fitzgerald's own drama (his wife Zelda suffered from schizophrenia).
This is a novel about love, passion, the desire to save a marriage, despair and self-deception, in which the face of an entire era can be seen behind the fates of individual characters.
