The historical novel 'Genghis Khan' by renowned writer Vasily Yan tells the story of the great 13th-century military leader. Hordes of Mongol tribes swept across the land with fire and sword, rushing from East to West. No force could withstand the might of the created army. This book is about the Conqueror and the conquered lands, about the clashes of strong characters and the role of an individual who redrew the map of the known ecumene, just as Alexander the Great once did with his army. What did the Mongol yoke bring to the peoples of Asia? Enlightenment or oblivion? What lies behind the attempt of a single nation to conquer the world?
