Dan Brown is an American writer, journalist, and musician.

Dan Brown was born on June 22, 1964, in New Hampshire (USA). His father was a mathematics professor and his mother was a professional musician. Dan grew up amid the paradoxes of science and religion. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and Amherst College, then moved to California, where he began his career as a songwriter, musician, and performer, releasing several CDs of his recordings.

In 1993, Dan Brown returned to New Hampshire and began teaching English at Amherst College.
