Young Tepik, a champion of the Ankh-Morporkian Guild of Naimants and a descendant of the small ancient kingdom of Djelibeybi, must soon take on the guises of a pharaoh and... a god. This conveys not only the heavenly luminaries, but also the sovereign treasury, which over the last few thousand years has been emptied of ambitious funeral rituals. The new ruler Dzhelibeybi created for his successor a much richer and more imaginatively constructed pyramid, and a series of genes were increasingly visible on the horizon, occupying the most beautiful native lands. During the day, the stench emerges from the energy accumulated during the day, illuminating the kingdom from which everything is lost without change. And Tepik, in this hour, in addition to the construction of yet another pyramid, is planning to welcome the lost victims, toothy crocodiles and one very close servant...
