Londinium. London. The heart of the British Empire. A city of beautiful architectural monuments. A city of great scientists, writers, and artists.
A city that survived a terrible plague epidemic and a monstrous fire that almost destroyed medieval London.
This is a gripping story about the people who have lived in the city from the time of the ancient Celtic tribes to the present day. A fascinating story of many generations of families whose destinies are intertwined in this city: Julius Caesar's legionaries who invaded the island two millennia ago, crusader knights setting off to reconquer the Holy Land, witnesses to the turbulent family life of Henry VIII, participants in the construction of the Globe Theatre, where Shakespeare's plays were performed, witnesses to the industrial revolution of our time.
This novel is for all those who have visited London and fallen in love with this city.
This book is for all those who have yet to visit there.
