The beginning of the 20th century. Argentina, Buenos Aires. Doctors at a clinic develop a theory: if a head continues to live for a few moments after being severed, there's a chance it will discover the afterlife and be able to communicate about it. The solution to this greatest mystery is just around the corner; all that's left is to recruit volunteers and record their revelations. The doctors begin their experiment. It's the beginning of the 21st century. Times are changing, but the performance art of severed body parts continues. But what was once a professional interest turns into a macabre game. There is no passion in it, no desire for death, only contemplation and the aesthetic coldness of narcissism.
The novel, in which Thanatos coexists perfectly with Eros, is flavored with dark comedy, philosophical references, and paradoxical plot twists.
