'Fight Club' is Chuck Palahniuk's most famous novel. Everyone remembers the film by director David Fincher with Brad Pitt in the lead role? It is based precisely on this book. This is a novel-challenge, a novel created to spite everyone and in defiance of everything; it describes a generation of embittered people who have lost the notion of what is permitted and what is not, where good and evil are, who they themselves are and who surrounds them. Palahniuk himself calls his 'Fight Club' the new 'Great Gatsby'. So what are they like — these Gatsbys of the end of the 20th century?

Chuck Palahniuk

Chuck Palahniuk is a contemporary American writer and independent journalist. He is best known as the author of Fight Club, which was later adapted into a film by David Fincher. His works, stylistically similar to those of writers such as Bret Easton Ellis, Irvine Welsh, and Douglas Coupland, made him one of the most popular novelists of Generation X.

Chuck Palahniuk is the son of Carol and Fred Palahniuk. He grew up in a house trailer in Burbank, Washington. When he was 14, his parents divorced and often left Chuck and his siblings at his grandparents’ ranch in eastern Washington.
