After a traumatic breakup, Mary takes her son Celian out of school and leaves the suffocating gray of Paris for Vienne, a tiny island in the Baltic Sea. Where the Renaissance astronomer Tycho Brahe built an observatory and created an accurate map of the starry sky. Where only the cycle of the sun and moon reminds us of the passage of time. To a world unspoiled by humans, where their wounds will gradually begin to heal.
This novel is an ode to the beauty of the universe. About unconditional motherly love and about a boy of incredible kindness, whose inner light illuminates the narrative.
