The spirit of bold exploration and innovation also permeated philosophy: with his fundamental work, The Critique of Pure Reason (1781), Immanuel Kant revolutionized metaphysics and our worldview as a whole. This 'Copernican' revolution marked the beginning of a new—critical—period in the work of the thinker himself.
The edition includes two works from the critical period.
'Prolegomena to All Future Metaphysics' (1783) is a kind of key to understanding the 'Critique of Pure Reason.' Conceived as a short, popular summary of this large, complex work, the work was supplemented with explanations during the process, designed to refute the erroneous interpretation of the most essential provisions of Kant's teaching and prepare the reader for the perception of the Critique.
'Foundations of the Metaphysics of Morals' (1785) is an ethical treatise in which Kant develops a philosophical justification for the moral law - the categorical imperative.
