The Foundation Pit

Andrei Platonov is one of the most striking representatives of Russian literature of the 20th century. Written 'in an effort toward the future', his works expand the frames of language and consciousness. Platonov's literary, scientific-technical and philosophical heritage is, in its scale, unique in the history of Russian literature of the Soviet and post-Soviet period. The novella 'The Foundation Pit' is one of Platonov's most famous works, as well as one of the most piercing texts of Russian literature.
