English physician and writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is known worldwide as an unrivaled master of the detective genre, author of numerous works featuring the brilliant detective Sherlock Holmes and his faithful friend Dr. Watson. Classic translations of these stories and novels, produced long ago and by numerous translators, suffer from well-known shortcomings: discrepancies, omissions, and outright errors. We present to you a collection of 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' with new translations by Lyudmila Brilova and Sergey Sukharev—masters whose translations of Kazuo Ishiguro and Ray Bradbury, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Charles Palliser, Thomas De Quincey, Herman Melville, and others have long since become classics.
