My name is Alula. I am the one who remembers. Your name is Koahu. You are the one who forgets. A tale of love and hatred, memory and oblivion spanning two centuries will lead the reader to Brussels, Paris, and New Orleans, to Oceania and Mauritius, and will end on a muffled pre-war night in a border village in Spain. But this story will have no end, and the period is not a finale but merely a pause, after which everything will begin anew, only in a different order. The story is not over as long as there remain those in the world who know how to make crossings. A mystical detective novel, an intellectual charade, a literary puzzle for connoisseurs.
