One morning, Maya decides to take a desperate step: she goes to the school principal and accuses her boyfriend of violence. The decision isn't easy, as she knows not everyone will believe that Mike, the school's golden boy and star track athlete, is capable of such a thing. Her friend, a feminist activist, believes they need to fight for justice and takes on the task of organizing a protest, which ultimately turns into an event unrelated to Maya's situation. Together, the girls try to figure out who they really are: strong individuals who know exactly what they want and what they are striving for, or victims who are unable to cope with the burden of responsibility placed on them by their parents, society, and themselves.
