So, what did the residents of the cottage village actually see—a leopard or a UFO? What happens to the puppies from the bird market? Why does a photographer need a pink cat? Will an owl bring good luck to the family café? These are just some of the fascinating questions that will be answered in this collection of stories. The characters find themselves in a variety of situations—absurd, fantastical, or mundane. And in each one, you can hear the voice of a teenager searching, doubting, hoping, and rejoicing.
All the stories in the collection amazingly accurately and sincerely convey the intonations of 13-14-year-olds who worry about our smaller brothers, experience conflicts, and seek their place in this world. The author captured the skepticism of teenagers and, at the same time, their lyrical state of mind.
Despite the unusual plots, most of the characters in the collection are rooted in real life. According to writer Eva Nemesh, the stories are based on local news, stories of volunteers and animal rights activists, and personal observations.
